Enjoy a unique vegetarian pizza inspired by the Snowy Valley region's produce and venues.
Creating pizzas is so much fun, it's like crafting with edible colours and flavours. This is one of the most delicious vegetarian combinations for your winter pizza making! Hazelnuts are some of the most versatile ingredients grown in the region. They go great with cheese and contain protein, they can substitute for meat. Persimmons are often cultivated by market gardeners and are available in fruit shops and co-op community tables. They are delicious when still firm on pizza but you can also substitute them with pumpkin. Rosemary bushes are easy to grow in our climate and are part of so many garden edges. The plant is perennial and you can harvest the herb all year long. The perfume is sublime and so good with potatoes, which is also a common gardener's crop and available locally. Thanks to Nest's Friday night pizzas that inspired me to use fruits, pumpkins and hazelnuts. Thanks also to Tumut River Brewery for the potato and rosemary pizza discovery. I would have never thought of using this combination of ingredients on a pizza before and now I really love it!
